Dr Hanan Yusuf, is an assistant professor working in Addis Ababa University Medical faculty department of internal medicine. She joined medicine in Gondar University and completed her undergraduate training in Addis Ababa University Medical Faculty. Dr Hanan then went back and worked in Gondar University as a lecturer in the department of internal Medicine. She had active participation in the establishment of the TB isolation ward. She was the lead physician in the management of Multi Drug resistant Tuberculosis for four years and helped in the treatment of more than hundred patients. Her thesis for her Master’s in Public Health, was on Retreatment (the old Category III) anti tuberculosis drugs and risks of drug resistance- a two year prospective study. She was granted a scholarship for summer course in Global Health effectiveness program, an esteemed course at Harvard School of Public Health, USA. Her postgraduate studies were in Addis Ababa University, Medical Faculty where she continued her studies as pulmonary and critical care specialist with the collaboration of EATI based in US where she had her observer ship as part of her fellowship training. She is currently the head of pulmonary and critical care division and involved in teaching, mentoring and clinical service. Her ongoing research activities revolve around Lung health in women and severity scorings in obstetric critical care.
